My love affair with music began at an early age. I’d lock myself in my room for hours , listening to Wynnona Judd, Reba McEntire, Deana Carter, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, pausing my tape player and handwriting down lyrics.  I loved music but was terrified to sing in front of anyone, including my family. 

I was nine years old when my parents brought me to a local karaoke bar called T.J. Hooligans. I was so scared and wasn’t sure if I’d make it on stage. My mom told me that sometimes the things that scare us the most are the things we're meant to do, so be a “Brave Little Toaster” and do it! So I got up there sang “Strawberry Wine” by Deana Carter and fell in love with the stage.

I've been singing ever since.

Music has always been woven into my life. Inspired by so many artists and genres. I fell in love with songs that tell stories, make people feel something, and remind us we're not alone. I sang throughout my childhood and into adulthood, but somewhere along the way life got busy. For nearly twenty years, music took a back seat while I focused on being a mom of three beautiful children.

Then I turned 40.

A girls' trip to Nashville changed everything. Standing in a city filled with dreamers, songwriters, and musicians, I felt something wake up inside me. It reminded me that life is short, dreams don't have expiration dates, and sometimes the bravest thing we can do is start again.

When I came home, something had shifted. I started going to open mics, taught myself a little guitar, and began writing down the stories and ideas that had been tucked away in my heart for years. What started as a leap of faith quickly became one of the greatest joys of my life.

For so long, music had been a part of me that I had set aside while I focused on raising a family, building a career, and taking care of everyone around me. Somewhere along the way, I forgot how much I needed it. Returning to music felt like coming home to a part of myself I thought I had lost.

One brave step led to another, and before I knew it, I was writing songs, performing again, and falling in love with music in a whole new way. 

 Every time I step on stage, I'm reminded that it's never too late to chase a dream that's been waiting patiently for you.
